Team Dynamics Beta are pleased to announce that Callum Barton has
accepted an arrangement to join the team for 2012. Callum aged 18 has
dramatically progressed up to B Grade within less than two years. We
wish Callum well in his trials career.
We are also pleased to announce that Joel Patane has accept an
arrangement to join the team for 2012 as one of our junior riders.
Young Joel will join the team along with his brother Luke who together
are progressing well through the grades.
This will see Team Dynamics Beta as a fully diverse team for 2012, the
full team make up is, Seniors - Neil Price & Callum Barton, Juniors -
Luke & Joel Patane and Womens - Meg & Luci Clarke, we wish the team well
for 2012.

Death mars Dakar rally opening

THE death of Argentinian rider Jorge Martinez Boero overshadowed the first day of the Dakar Rally yesterday during which Russia's Leonid Novitzkiy lead the cars section and Chilean Francisco Lopez the motorbikes.

The 38-year-old Boero, making his second appearance on the gruelling rally, suffered a heart attack after being seriously injured in a fall from his Beta bike 2km from the end of the stage between Mar del Plata and Santa Rosa de la Pampa in the west of Argentina.

Organisers said that Boero received medical attention within five minutes of the crash and was airlifted by helicopter, but died on his way to hospital.

Boero, they said, "was the victim of a fall at kilometre 55 of the special of the first stage between Mar del Plata and Santa Rosa".

"The rider suffered a cardiac arrest following his fall and was attended five minutes after the accident by the medical staff, who reached the place of the incident by helicopter.

"The organisers of the rally offer their heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones."

"Despite their best efforts, the doctors were unable to resuscitate the pilot, who died while he was being taken to hospital.

Boero was the son of a former Argentinian racing champion of the same name who died in 2004. His only previous Dakar Rally appearance last year ended when he crashed into a ravine during stage six in Chile and had to wait eight hours before being rescued.

Boero's death was the 21st of a competitor during a Dakar Rally, organised 29 times in Africa from 1979 before moving to South America in 2009.

In total, 59 people have died during the rally, including more than 20 spectators.

"It's a real tragedy. He's a boy that we knew well," said race director Etienne Lavigne. "There's a lot of emotion at the camp tonight. It will be tough to start tomorrow. But it's the biggest tribute we could give him. The competition continues."

2012 Beta's have landed

The first of the 2012 Beta's have arrived in WA, a couple of 250's and a 125. There two 4 strokes heading to WA in the next couple of shipments.

Australian Moto Trials Champs-All WA Senior Competitors finish in Top
Ten

Neil Price the best of the locals at Australian Trials Championship

Kiwi Jake Whittaker has upset the locals, winning the 2011 Australian
Moto Trials Championship in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.
Motorcycling Western Australia member Neil Price was the best of the
Australian riders, finishing in second ahead of fellow Trials des
Nations teammate Kyle Middleton from New South Wales.

West Australian's Lewis and Alex Nolan finished 7th and 10th which is a
great effort as they have been unable to compete at all event's this
season. This also meant that all WA rider's that competed in the event
finished in the Top Ten in Australia.

Held in the picturesque Barossa Valley over two days, competition was
fierce with Price coming from fifth after the first day to take second
and his third consecutive podium at the National Championship event.

Krisite McKinnon claimed her third Australian Championship, winning the
Women's title ahead of defending champ Michelle Coleman, while Amanda
Cummins (Tier 1) and Lucinda Clarke (Tier 2) blew the field away to take
out the Junior Women's classes.

Jonathon Chellas walked away with the Open Junior title, Connor Hogan
finished top of the pile in the Junior 7-12 class.

Rob Jones was the best of the Masters class, Lachlan Gibson claimed the
Youth class crown, while the team of Luscombe and Sparkes won the
Sidecar title.

Neil Price No 1 Australian Moto Trials Rider 2011

> Neil has maintain his Australian No 1 ranking after finishing best Australian at the Vine Inn Barossa 2011 Australian Moto Trials Championships in South Australia's Barossa Valley. Riding the only Beta Factory 300 in Australia he finished in 4th place at the end of the first day of competition. Neil said, "I made some dumb mistakes early which cost me dearly and it's going to be tough to peg back those lost points". However that's just what he did on Day Two, he had a brilliant ride to finish 3 points ahead of his Trials des Nations Aust team mate Kyle Middleton. Neil said, "I just kept to my comp strategy and the Beta Factory bike was unbelievable, it was so smooth, it was awesome. Now I need to go one better and peg back NZ rider Jake Whittaker".
Congratulations Neil.

The rest Team Dynamics also had a good weekend, Lewis and Alex finished 7th and 10th which is a great effort considering that they haven't ridden much this year, so all our senior team riders are in the Aust's top ten. Our junior boy riders Luke and Joel can be proud of their rides. Luke competing in open junior was up against a strong older group of riders but did himself and us proud of his ride. Luke finished 15th of 16 riders but the points difference between 10th and 15th was only 53 points after two days of competition. Luke had some big steps to go up and some very tough sections. Joel riding junior 7-12 year olds finished 4th of 7 riders. Our junior girls Meg & Luci also had a top ride following on from their junior women's cup win. They entered the 2nd tier of women's junior which wasn't a official class but they finished 1st & 2nd with Luci coming out in front. Meg had a ear infection which ended up bleeding, so she was a bit off her game.

Team Dynamics update Aust Nats Barrossa South Oz

With Day One done and dusted Team Dynamics is positioned well. Neil is sitting in 4th only 6 points of second. Lewis is 7th only 4 point off 5th and Alex is in 10th. This is very similar to the positions after day one last year.
Our junior boys team is toughing it out in a very strong field, Luke who is riding against 16 year old A & B grade riders in hard C to easy B sections, in a field of 16 Luke is in 15th but he has had some great rides and some tough ones which are all great experience. Next year Luke will find as the 16 year old juniors move out he will quickly move up the placings. Joel is riding well in the 2nd tier junior sections for his first ever national championships sitting in 4th, Joel has found it fairly tough but is coming to grips with it.
Our juniors girls Megs & Luci are placed 1st & 2nd, can't do better than that. The hard work and training has paid off for the girls.
With a good run tomorrow we could see our team riders moving up a number of positions and in Megs and Luci's case that they hold their position.

2011 Australian Women's Cup win

Team Dynamics has taken the two top spots on the Women's Junior podium in the 2011 Australian Womens Cup. Meg and Luci Clarke finished with a tied score to claim 1st & 2nd after battling terrible weather conditions, including a hail storm. The pair had to be split via a count back of cleans which went Luci's way. That is a fantastic result for the girls first full trials season and of course first Aust Women's Cup.

Nats Update

Team Dynamics assault on the SA Nationals is going well.
Leo & Rod Byrant drove over the Gas Gas van with trailer in tow leaving Sunday and Ben and Simon drove the Beta van over leaving Mon taking 30 hours for the trip arriving Tues lunch time. Neil flew over Tues morning with the Patane's arriving in the Barrossa just after Ben & Simon. The Clarke Family flew via Melbourne first to catch up with family.
Meg & Luci rode the women's cup on Wed but we dont know where they finished as a hail storm came through at the end the event a presentations were cancelled, we are waiting for results. Neil's practice & preparations have gone well and he is really looking forward to the event. Lewis and Alex fly in Fri night with Paul who is minding for Alex. Lewis and Alex will practice Sat morning to settle in.

TDN Sept 2011 Tolmezzo Italy

Team Manager, Phil Whittle, helper Paul Sens. Mens team riders, Tim Coleman, Kyle Middleton, Neil Price, Boyd Willcocks. Minders, Lachlan, Ross Middlelton, Simon Price, Mike Willcocks. Women's riders, only Kristy McKinnon due to riders having to supply and fund their own minder, Kristy was doing Euro and women's world rounds.
On the flight over at Dubai airport, Troy Bayliss stopped and said hello to the team and was on the same flight to Milan, he was heading to Italy for testing.
We stayed at the hotel Albergo Trieste in the village Arte Terme. We also had the Canadian, Irish, Portugal and USA teams staying at the hotel, Neil ended up translator for everyone with his basic Italian knowledge.
Wed 14th went practicing just up from the hotel.
Thurs 15th
Went to paddock in Tolmezzo and practiced at the official practise site.
Friday 16th
Kristy rode womens world cup. Fri night we had the team presentation march through town.
Sat 17th
Womens TDN, Kristy only Aust woman riding. In morning men's team machine examination, section expection in the arvo
Aust women's team (Kristy) 7th.
Sun 18th Men's TdN
Aust start time 09:32, finish time 16:32, 2 laps of 18 sections, 4 hours allocated to first lap, 3 hours for second lap.
Finished with just seconds to spare, Ross was the overall time keeper, no time penalties. No major problems, had fuel shortage with the Gassa's at section group 12,13 & 14. Neil bent header pipe at section 18, it was leaking at flange gasket, it had torn out one of the bolts. The Beta truck Donato had to drill and tap it. The team went on, we missed section one and caught up with them at section two. My timers stop due to rain on the second lap. Riders couldn't walk the sections on the day, could only look from the tape. On section inspection only riders could walk in the sections. Each section had an observer there during inspection. During the event minders couldn't enter section except to catch. Riders could not touch any markers, observers very tough on touching marker.
Aust finished 4th compared to 7th last year and was only 25 points off 3rd place. Aust also finished ahead of the Irish and the USA. The Irish were stirring us up about the rugby world cup until we beat them in the trial.
The team worked very well together, everything flow well without any hassles. Great result, well done everyone.

2012 TDN will be in Moutier Swiztland.

Trials Demo at ALCOA Minesite

Sunday 11th Sept Team Dynamics will be doing a trials demo at the ALCOA family open day. Lewis & Alex and Meg & Luci will be riding. This will be Meg and Luci's first demo ride. It will be interesting for ALCOA employees to see their end product in use in our sport.

Neil Price takes out the 2011 Smarter than Smoking MotoTrials WA State Championship

The 2011 Smarter than Smoking MotoTrials WA State Championship has been won by Neil Price in perfect conditions at Burekup, WA on 4^th September.

Neil, who is currently Australia’s number 1 MotoTrials rider and a member of the Trials des Nations Team that is competing in Italy in two weeks’ time, showed his class in defeating brothers, Lewis and Alex Nolan in the highly technical Expert or A Grade class.

Losing only 20 points over three laps of ten demanding sections, the recently turned 30 year old showcased his superb riding skills to a small but appreciated spectator group that followed his every move as he rode the only “works” Beta 300cc motorcycle in Australia.

Early conditions were testing for all Grades as there had been significant rainfall over the last week and the creeks were flowing rapidly. There were a number of retirements due to the slippery conditions, but these eased later in the day when bright sunshine and a warm wind blew over the steep and rocky property known as Emerald Valley. Spectators included local Member of Parliament, Mick Murray, who was impressed by skills of all Grades, especially Donnybrook rider, Joel Patane who won the junior title by one point from his elder brother Luke.

The B Grade was won by rising star Tristian Lowe.

The C Grade Winner was Matt Leatherbarrow, a Dalyellup local and one of the many from around the Ferguson Valley vicinity.

The Veterans Class caters for the over 40 year olds and comprises of an age based handicap known as the Venables Handicap. Steve Lloyd-Cox had no need of the handicap and took out the grade with a clear superiority.

In the Club Class, Ritch Clarke proved a worthy Winner by dropping only one point over six laps.

Adding to the spectacle was a MotoTrials Sidecar outfit piloted by Leo Nolan with Glenn Ursino in the chair as a demonstration class. A clear crowd favourite, the chair was always a hit with the younger spectators.

MA Steward, John McGlone commented that the event was very well laid out and was run in a friendly, though competitive atmosphere. “MotoTrials is about skill and determination.” he said. “However, as all grades are on the same venue at the same time, riders of different ages, different genders and different skill levels are able to interact and learn.”

A large contingent of WA Riders and Supports are now gearing up for the trip to the Barossa Valley in South Australia over the first weekend of October for the National Championships.

Well done to all competitors at our State Championships and good luck at the Nationals!

For those remaining in WA, the next Pathfinders Trials MCC event is the annual Nobby Clarke Memorial Charity Trial and Auction in Toodyay on the 1^st and 2^nd October.

2012 EVO - First Shipment due November

A constant evolution of the motorcycle, the chassis and the engines, always developed to support both expert and hobby riders. This is the approach followed by Beta to improve the EVO 2012 following the great success of the EVO 2011 range and allowing the marque to remain at the top of the world’s Trial market.

The experience gained during the season and participation in major World competitions, has allowed further refinement of a motorcycle already highly regarded in the sport of Trials.

The ”Top of the range” EVO takes a further step by the 2T displacement which increases from 290cc to 300cc. Also introduced are a series of changes designed to further improve performance, ergonomics and ease of maintenance.

From an aesthetic point of view the EVO MY2012 is aligned to the new Beta "family feeling", associating black frame with a bright red, very "Italian Style".

Donato Miglio, Factory Beta Trial Team Manager, comments on the new EVO: "The new 300cc engine is probably the biggest evolution made since the birth of the EVO. This is an entirely new engine, very similar to that used by the Factory riders over the last year. It is very progressive and at the same time powerful, with a large reserve of torque. We believe we have made available for every rider the performances of a highly competitive bike, very easy to ride by hobby riders and highly competitive when used in a race. "

New Features

New 300cc engine: the entire cylinder has been completely redesigned taking the bore to 79mm and the displacement to 300cc. The piston has been redesigned in the profile and shape of the top to improve combustion characteristics. We have also changed the profile of the combustion chamber to optimize engine behaviour and performance. These changes allow a significant increase in torque combined with a greater power at high engine speeds. This allows an improved ease of driving, most immediate and progressive reactions to throttle opening and easier management of the bike especially by hobby users. At the same time, increased engine power allows performance improvement in competition. The power and torque curves graphically represent the different behaviour of the 290cc engine and the new 300cc.



New clutch plates: improve torque transmission, especially in higher gears, increase the progression and convey a better feeling when you look for traction in low grip conditions.

The thermostat of the radiator is now located at the bottom of the radiator for improved accuracy and precision.

Revised gearbox cam with a different thickness, for even smoother gear engagement.

New suspension setting, optimize for the new 300cc displacement and improved for the all the other models.

Lights switch positioned laterally next to radiator fan. Less interference when driving in extreme position, less space taken on the handlebar and easy maintenance in case of replacement of the handlebar.

Electrical system modified for a better layout and simplification of the cables.

New colour for the front fork tubes for an exclusive look **.

New colour and new graphics aligned to the coordinate image of Beta range and "Made in Italy” style **.
