2010 BETA ENDURO, MOTOR AND CHASSIS OVERVIEW

NEW 4T ENGINE


    Modern, reliable 4T engine: available in 400, 450 and 520 cc versions, for greater versatility of use.
  • Compact size and limited weight (31.4 kg) to increase handling.
  • High levels of performance aimed at ensuring maximum usability and traction for the rider.
  • Engine casing and engine covers (magnesium) with variable thicknesses for greater stiffness and resistance to stress.
  • Components such as motor shaft and gear change made of special steel of aeronautical origin: 30% more resistant compared to traditional steels.
  • 4 valves, double cam shaft and finger followers with DLC-treatment (the same technology used in F1 and the MotoGP.
  • Double counterweight countershaft to eliminate detrimental vibrations.
  • Tight valve angle and combustion chamber with optimised geometrics: excellent power output combined with a high standard of engine control at various speeds.
  • Separate oil circuits: one for cylinder/crankshaft and one for gearbox/clutch to eliminate contamination with gear change/clutch residues. Possible to use oils with different specifications.

NEW CHASSIS


  • More rigid, lightweight frame.
  • Total overhaul of the dimensions and cross section of tubes, to improve feeling, handling and stability.
  • Widespread use of chrome-molybdenum to increase mechanical resistance.
  • Brand-new Marzocchi Shiver ΓΈ 45 mm fork with compression/extension pistons of different diameters to increase absorption of bumps in rough terrain.
  • Improved fork smoothness and less initial friction.
  • Greater fork progressivity and lining rigidity to increase directional stability.
  • More rigid swingarm to improve the effectiveness of the rear suspension.
  • New progressive rear suspension system: improves traction and progressivity (+15%).
  • New shock absorber with increased axle base and new spring. Dissipates heat better and ensures more stable performance levels over time.
  • New hydraulic calibration for the suspension to work in harmony with the new swingarm and progressive system.
  • Innovative rear frame made of special plastic (filled polyamide) material to reduce the weight and improve functionality and mechanical accessibility.
  • New plastics design: more aggressive, modern style together with better ergonomics for the rider.
  • New seat with a more linear shape and profile to allow easier moving and riding comfort.
