BETA RIDERS MAKE PODIUM IN JAPAN AND ERZBERG

Beta had a very successful weekend with Jeroni Fajardo placing 3rd and 2nd at the third round of the world trials championship, and Dougie Lampkin placing 3rd in the Erzberg extreme enduro

Jeroni Fajardo was on form in Japan with a 2nd for day 1, and a 3rd for day 2 . This years championship has been the closest in years with 3 different winners in 3 rounds. The Japanese round was made a lot more difficult due to some heavy rain on Friday . The event is held at the twin ring motegi circuit which is extremely steep, it doesn't take much rain to turn the place into a slippery bog hole. Toni Bou and Adam Raga shared the honors for both days but Jeroni always kept the pressure on them through out the weekend. A shook for the weekend was a 5th place for the ex championship rider Kenichi Kuroyama who has been off the world stage a for a few years. Jeroni has now overtaken Albert Cabestany in the championship and now sits 4th only 6 points from Fujigas.

The Erzberg Hare Scramble is considered the hardest enduro in the world! To give you a perspective 500 started and only 15 finished. The event was won overall by Tadeusz Blazusiak who is the undisputed king of extreme enduros. Dougie previously attempted Erzberg last year but didn't have the best introduction to the Iron Giant. Dougie collapsed due to the extreme temperatures while in 2nd position. While Dougie was being seen to another rider passed dislodging a rock which hit him in the head without his helmet on. Doug had to be airlifted to the nearest hospital for a night for precautions. This year Dougie had an awesome run but unfortuantly had some mechanical issues which robbed him of 2nd place. In the end Dougie managed to bring his Beta 400 home in 3rd position.
